At Durango Nursery and Supply, we are committed to supplying the community with quality landscape plants and materials needed in all areas of residential and commercial land development. Our focus is to provide the best quality native and xeric plant varieties available, as well as bulk materials for the convenience of the professional and homeowner for the ease and success of each landscape project.

Tom Bridge
Owner
Tom grew up on an orchard in New York, selling apples and raspberries at stands set up along the roadside. He later had a business growing hydroponic vegetables. In 1969, he moved to Denver, CO to attend The University of Denver, obtaining degrees in Anthropology and Geology. After moving to Durango, he established a successful landscape construction business that completed projects from Durango to Telluride. His landscape business specialized in water feature installation, and received 4 awards from the ALCC in Landscape Excellence. In 1999, Tom opened Durango Nursery & Supply, Inc. Tom brings a positive attitude to work with him on a daily basis. Outside of the nursery, he enjoys skiing, biking, cooking, and gardening.

Sue Herlihy
Nursery Manager
Sue moved to Durango in 1993 from Eaton, Colorado. She has been working in the nursery business since 1980, and with Durango Nursery since 2005. She has extensive experience in hands on gardening, and a broad knowledge of trees, shrubs, and perennials. Sue excels in customer service and brings a lively sense of humor to the nursery every day. When she is not at work, she enjoys hiking, swimming, camping, traveling, and most of all, spending time with her spouse and dogs, Hazel and Peaches.

Michelle hails from Frederick, Maryland and has been in Durango about 6 years, working with us for five. She has previously worked in greenhouses in Maryland. Tiffany is originally from south Florida, and has lived in Durango for 12 years. She has been an avid gardener & plant collector for over 20 years with interests in subtropical plant species and native/xeric plants of the Rocky Mountains and regions of similar climates. She studied Environmental Horticulture at the University of Florida and completed the Colorado Masters Gardeners Program through CSU. She is a certified Colorado Greenhouse Grower who has owned landscaping businesses in Florida and Colorado. Her focuses have been in design/installation and garden maintenance. Tiffany enjoys spending time in her organic veggie garden, dancing, snowboarding & everything Colorado.

Rachel migrated here from the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina in late 2012. Her background is in agro-ecological systems and she is passionate about seed saving and cooperative development. Prior to moving, she homesteaded off the grid for nearly two years tucked away in the mountains near Boone. Rachel is co-owner of SolaVita Kombucha, a brewing operation in Durango, and says she strives to live by principles of physical and spiritual wellness to enhance relationships with our earth and community. In her spare time, she enjoys brewing kombucha, gardening, and potlucks with friends.

She moved to Los Angeles and Boston for five years while working as an evolutionary scientist and obtaining a master’s degree, but Durango called her back to the mountains and high desert. She has been at Durango Nursery for over two years, and she enjoys using her background in science, agriculture, and statistics to streamline inventory operations. In her free time, Alena likes to work in her garden, ski, raft, camp, and spend time with her partner and their sweet dog.

Perennials Czar
Beth moved to Durango from Michigan in 1976. Since she has been in Durango, she has worked as an apprentice to a local jeweler, become a Master Gardener, and worked in an indoor and tropical plant service business. In 2002, she began working at Durango Nursery. Beth has years of experience in trees, shrubs, perennials, aquatic plants, and retail sales. She brings a gentle, friendly, and hard working attitude to the nursery, and excels at customer service. In her free time, Beth enjoys spending time with her husband, Jim, and painting, designing and fabricating jewelry, and gardening.

Paul came to Colorado in 1988 from northern New York State. He moved to Durango in 1990 and began working in the nursery/landscaping business that year. He began working at Durango Nursery in 2006. He brings a strong background in woody plant care and identification, landscape and nursery irrigation, landscape construction, and customer service to the nursery. Paul has a very friendly, open, and fun loving personality. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his daughters Margaret and Mary Rose. He also loves hiking, cross country skiing, camping, playing guitar and singing.

CDL Driver / Yard Technician Bob came to Durango in 1979 from St. Charles, Illinois. Upon moving to Durango, he got his CDL and began working as a delivery driver for several different businesses. He also worked as a builder for a small construction company. Since Bob began working at the nursery (2006), he has gained extensive experience in tree and shrub identification and care, irrigation, landscape stone and mulches, erosion control, and customer service. He adds a friendly, hard working, funny personality to the nursery; and always offers a voice of sensibility for the rest of us. When he is not at work, Bob enjoys brewing beer, fishing, and spending time with his wife, Janette, and his two dogs, Jada and Isabella.
