How To Get Started!

It can be overwhelming to look at your yard and wonder "Where to begin?"
We can help you with your project from start to finish, whether you plan on installing everything yourself or hiring a company to do the heavy lifting.
The questions below can help point you to the resources you may need to begin.

Do you plan on Planning & Planting your garden yourself?

 No?
Thats Cool! We do not install, design, or plant on any property except our own.
Check out our Landscaper List to find a company to help with your exact needs!

Yes?
That's Great! We can help answer any questions you may have along the way.
We also have many examples that you can use for reference, just take a look at What's in Our Garden!

Here a few questions and resources to help you develop all of the information you may need before being ready to purchase.

*Quick Tip*
Draw your yard or property on a piece of lined or graph paper.
Include dimensions of property lines, structures, or pathways.
Make photocopies! As your ideas and plans evolve your outline can as well.

Before you start digging or building, locate all of your property's utility lines!

It can be easy to get excited to get out there and get dirty, but there is still a bit of information needed before you break ground. Especially with large projects that include planting trees and large shrubs you need to prepare for their future. Avoid placing large trees and shrubs too close to structures providing them room to grow and avoid potential foundation damages. Avoid placing large trees and shrubs over gas, water, electric, or sewar lines as their roots may grow into those lines and disrupt your properties access to necessities.

What kind of yard do you want?

Zeroscape?
Zeroscaping refers to the amount of maintenance as well as the amount of plant life. These landscapes are completely rock, gravel, or soil created to minimize clean up and eliminate water use. They can create additional heat to landscape and is best reserved for areas that have naturally barren soil.
We have all of the Hardscaping material, Rock, & Gravel you may need!

Wild?
We have native plants and Wildflower seed to help create any meadow or wild landscape!

Xeriscape?
This style uses Waterwise and Native plants to create a lush landscape while minimizing water usage. Check out the Xeriscape Guidelines!
This is our specialty, and we can answer your questions along the way!

Edible & Productive?
We have you covered with a large selection of fruit bearing trees and shrubs as well as a wide variety of seasonal veggies and herbs!

Softscapes?
This refers to lush lawns and soft plants to create a safe yard for kids and critters.
We do not carry Sod but we do carry Grass Seed and wonderful plants to soften up any area!

Container Gardening? Patio Gardening? Indoor Growing?
We dont all have large yards or own our homes, but that doesn't mean container or small space gardening isn't a big project.
We have all of the Pottery, Bagged Soil & Amendment, and Fertilizer to bring out your Blooms!
