Considered the best flavored and sweetest plum! Small green fruit turn slightly yellow when ripe, with tender, sweet, juicy flesh. Delicious when eaten fresh off the tree, cooked, dried or canned. This very old European variety dates back to 16th century France, and was introduced to the Americas in the late 1700s. Semi-clingstone. Ripens early August.
Self-fertile but will produce heavier crop when pollinated with another cultivar.
