This introduction from the University of Minnesota is an early apple with fruit color 60-85% red depending on exposure to the sun. Where the sun shines on the fruit, a bright rosy-red blush develops, while shaded areas are often creamy yellow. Excellent sweet tart flavor with a hint of brown sugar, perfect for cooking and fresh eating. Apples remain crisp for 2-2 ½ months in refrigeration. Ripens in late August to late September.
